Traditional Owners & Custodians Acknowledgement
Australia's Traditional Owners and Custodians of Country are the Indigenous peoples who have inhabited the land for thousands of years. Each group has a deep spiritual connection to their ancestral lands, waters, and resources, guided by unique cultural practices, languages, and traditions. They hold significant knowledge of the environment and play a vital role in its stewardship. Recognising and respecting their ongoing connection to Country is essential for promoting reconciliation and understanding in contemporary Australia.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to them, their cultures, and Elders past and present.
